A 7.5-magnitude earthquake, the strongest one to hit Taiwan in a quarter of a century, caused major disruptions and fatalities across the island nation. In addition to the loss of lives and infrastructure, the earthquake has also disrupted the chip supply chain, with TSMC being forced to evacuate some factory personnel.

Will this translate into production delays and price hikes?

Well, its too early to say that, but the good news is that the chipmaker confirmed that the workers are safe, and initial inspections revealed no major damage.
