Market research firm Counterpoint recently shared statistics for the global smartphone SoC market share in the first quarter of 2025, and MediaTek came out ahead in the race.
According to the report, MediaTek captured 26% of global smartphone SoC shipments during the quarter. The company posted quarter-over-quarter growth because of strong demand for entry-level and mainstream chips. In particular, Counterpoint notes that the Dimensity 8400 helped lift MediaTek shipments in the mid-to-high-end segment
