Good morning, folks.

Samsung's probably going to throw us a curveball with the Galaxy Z Fold lineup, while Huawei's could cook up something extraordinary in the camera department. Meanwhile, Redmi's making waves in the 5G market, and Apple's pushing the boundaries of VR with some AI wizardry.

More details on the above stories are in today’s newsletter below.

Samsung‘s upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event in Paris is set for today, and the Galaxy Z Fold 6 is expected to be the star of the show. However, rumors about a thinner, possibly larger-screened variant, the Z Fold 6 Ultra (or Z Fold 6 Slim), have been circulating for some time. Today, a new leak suggests that the Fold 6 Ultra project might be on indefinite hold, dashing those hopes.

The Huawei Mate 70 series is expected to be launched towards the end of 2024 with a new Kirin chipset. According to a rumor, the camera performance of the Mate 70 is significantly improved as compared to the last three generations.

Yesterday, Xiaomi held a launch event introducing multiple new devices to the Indian market, including the Redmi 13 5G smartphone. This new device is the successor of the widely successful Redmi 12 5G and comes with many upgrades.

Apple has released the visionOS 2 Beta 3 for the developers. The OS version is designed with augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) devices and their requirements in mind. Developers can participate in the test by opening Settings, going to Software Updates, clicking on the option for beta updates, and enabling developer beta.
