Daily Tech News & Insights, Every Weekday.

Good morning, tech folks! ☀️ Happy Friday!

Samsung is reportedly preparing one of its boldest foldables yet. New leaks suggest the Galaxy Z TriFold could launch as soon as December 5, featuring a 10-inch display, 5,600mAh battery, and a staggering $3,000 price tag — making it Samsung’s most ambitious (and most expensive) foldable to date.

In other news, DJI has introduced the lightweight Neo 2 drone, Nubia has launched a $100 iPhone-style budget phone, Caviar is back with gold-plated iPhone 17 models costing over $67,000, and Huawei may be developing a new foldable to directly counter the rumored iPhone Fold.

Samsung’s foldable lineup might be about to get a third fold — and a serious price bump. The long-rumored Galaxy Z TriFold is reportedly set to launch on December 5, bringing a massive 10-inch display, a beefier 5,600mAh battery, and a jaw-dropping $3,000 price tag.

That makes it nearly twice as expensive as the Z Fold7 and possibly the boldest (and bulkiest) experiment Samsung’s ever shipped.

DJI has released the Neo 2, a compact 151 gram drone built for users who want something easy to carry and easy to control.

It is the company’s lightest drone with omnidirectional obstacle sensing and brings new gesture controls, upgraded ActiveTrack and a SelfieShot mode aimed at quick everyday shooting.

A small display sits beside the camera to show the current shooting mode. The drone can lift off straight from the user’s palm by pointing it toward themselves and pressing the takeoff button.

Nubia has quietly launched a new smartphone called the V80 Design in several Asian markets, including the Philippines and Malaysia. The phone was introduced alongside the Nubia Air in these regions.

The V80 Design is a budget smartphone that borrows the rear camera layout from recent iPhones. The camera bar stretches across the entire width of the device, and, interestingly, Nubia has also placed the flashlight on the right edge, just like on the iPhone 17 Pro models.

Caviar, the international luxury brand known for its custom-made smartphones and watches, has announced its new Gold Collection for the iPhone 17 series, featuring three ultra-luxury models crafted entirely from 18-karat gold.

Each handset is crafted entirely from 18-karat gold, priced above $67,000, and produced in extremely limited quantities. The Palmette model draws inspiration from the palm trees of the United Arab Emirates and the geometric lines of Art Deco architecture.

A new leak out of China suggests Huawei could be preparing a new entry in its foldable lineup.

Reliable tipster Digital Chat Station took to Weibo to reveal that one of China’s top-five smartphone makers has begun testing a large-screen foldable phone.

According to the leak, the device will feature a 7.6-inch main display and a 5.5-inch cover display, with an aspect ratio close to 14:10. It’s said to run on a flagship-tier chipset and include a periscope telephoto camera.
